History of solid-state lasers
Laser sources are the heart of the equipment, emitting a light pulse in the infrared spectrum with a wavelength of 1060nm. The wavelength is documented in the source testing table upon equipment delivery.
The founder of modern laser sources is Valentin Pavlovich Gapontsev.
In the 1990s, based on the concept of optical quantum generators at NTO "IRE-POLYUS", he created the first laser. From 1995 to 1998, Valentin Pavlovich opened IPG PHOTONICS branches in Germany, Milan, and America. Currently, NTO "IRE-POLYUS" has been renamed to "VPG LASER ONE".
IPG Photonics laser sources are considered the most expensive and highest quality sources.
